I purchase my Fright Hike ticket? What is the cost?
A family fun event for Halloween! Fright Hike is a fun hike through the scary scenes that are performed along a 1-mile hike through Lapham Peak State Park. There is music entertainment performed in the staging area to be enjoyed before and after the hike. A bon fire is available to warm up and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after the event or come early and have a grilled hot dog, cookies and popcorn from the concession stand.
The event nights are: October 30th and 31st, 2009
Event Hours: 5:30pm –9:00 pm
Last Car Admitted to the Park at 8:45pm, Event operates rain or shine
How much time will I spend at the Fright Hike?
The actual hike time will
vary from 20-40 minutes depending on how many are sent as a group through the performances. Earlier times are less busy and
groups of 10 to 20 will be sent through at regular intervals. Later times are busier and will have groups of 30-40 and will
take longer to get through the hike. Also plan on wait times in line of 30 - 45 minutes during the hours of 7-8:45pm. Please remember the last car to be permitted into the park will be at 8:45pm.
The
event is held at Lapham Peak State Park. Directions are as follows:
From east of Hwy C (Delafield) and I-94: Follow I-94
west to Hwy C in Delafield. Exit and turn South (left), Lapham Peak State Park is approximately 1 mile South on the left side
of Hwy C.
From west of Hwy C (Delafield) and I-94: Follow I-94 east to Hwy C in Delafield. Exit and turn South (right),
Lapham Peak State Park is approximately 1 mile South on the left side of Hwy C.
You can purchase your ticket at the ticket booth/concession stand at the park. After entering
the park you will make your first right for parking or follow parking volunteers for open parking spots.
Cost to enter is $5.00 for
ages 6 and older. Park admission is $5.00 per car or a park sticker.
Is this event suitable for children?
This event may be too scary for young children. Adult discretion is strongly advised. There are no child ticket prices below age 6 for this event (under 6 free).
Casual clothes are suggested. You are outdoors and some nights are very cold; please wear appropriate clothing for the current temperature.
While
a good portion of the hike is dimly lit due to the scenes being performed, a small flashlight for younger children will aid in their
hiking through areas with no lighting. Please do not use through the areas where the performers are working.
